CHATEAUGAY - The second place position in the Northern Athletic Conference East League race became a lot tighter on Monday evening. Madrid-Waddington lost for only the second time in their last eight games dropping to 9-4, 12-5 overall in an intense 34-28 decision at Chateaugay.

The Lady Bullodgs (9-4 East) won their seventh straight and play Lisbon and Brushton-Moira to close the 2009-10 campaign. The Jackets travel St. Lawrence Central in their final contest on Wednesday. Brushton-Moira heads the league with a 13-0, 15-0 overall mark.

Chateaugay won the first three quarters before falling 10-7 in the fourth. Racquel Fowler and Courtney Boyea each scored 11 points while Cindy Harrigan added seven. Ashley Beldock scored eight points for M-W. Jenna Cryderman added six.

Brushton-Moira 57, Colton-Pierrepont 16: The Panthers remained unbeaten at 13-0, 15-0 respectively jumping early to a 18-5 lead. Chenice Russell scored 15 to lead the Panthers. Taylor Keck added nine while Shayna Russell, Emily LaPaige, and Haylea Gary each logged seven points.

Alex Soucia scored seven points to pace C-P (2-11. 3-13).

Salmon River 46, Parishville-Hopkinton 35:The Shamrocks (9-5, 10-7) earned their fourth win in five games as Amber Debyah scored 14 points and Aubrey Phillips grabbed 11 rebounds. Rebecca Remington and Michaela Cole each scored 11 for the 0-13, 0-14 Panthers.

NON LEAGUE GIRLS BASKETBALL

Tupper Lake 46, IndianLake-LongLake 41: Hunter Aldridge and Carley Aldridge produced 12 and 10 points, respectively for the Lady Jacks. Tayler Keniston registered 12 rebounds, four assists and five steals. Carli Reynolds scored a game-high 16 points, for Indian Lake/Long Lake.

BOYS BASKETBALL

Moirah 66, Brushton-Moira 65: In a CVAC - NAC challenge make-up game, Nate Gilbo and Nick Gilbo each scored 18 points and Ralph Schofield added 11 to lead Moirah. Josh Sevey scored 24 points. John Green added 11.
