SUNYPotsdam Softball Splits Monday Twinbill

FORT MYERS, FL- Heidi Grebinger (Bellmore) went 3-4 with two homeruns and Brittany Pawlowski (West Seneca) gave up only one run as the SUNY Potsdam softball team defeated Rockford College 9-1 on Monday morning in the first game of a mixed double-header.

Amanda Perry (South Glens Falls) was 2-4 with two doubles, a run, and one RBI. Dana Vollmuth (Great River) was also 2-4 with one double and two RBI. Allison Breivogel (Bellmore) was 2-4 with two runs scored. Pawlowski was 1-2 at the plate with a run scored. Jessica Brower (Staten Island) was 1-2 with two RBI, and Allison Smiddy (Ft. Covington) was 1-3 with one RBI.

The Bears dropped the second game to Illinois 7-4. Grebinger was 1-3 with a run scored, two RBI, and a homerun. Breivogel was 2-3 with a run scored and Heather Johnson was 1-3 with a RBI. Katie Nawrot (Clarence) pitched 3.1 innings and gave up 11 hits, seven runs (6 earned) and had two strikeouts. Meghan Patterson (Malone) came in relief and went 2.2 innings giving up one hit and had one strikeout.

The Bears go against Clark College this morning at 11 a.m. followed by a game against Bethany Lutheran at 1 p.m.
