Heuvelton Ladies Post Shutout Over Triple A

The Heuvelton Women's Soccer team engineered a 7-0 shutout over Triple A of Ogdensburg on Tuesday in North Country Women's Soccer League action.

Riane Fletcher and Eliza Ladouceur each scored twice for Heuvelton while Heather Johnson, Megan Davis and Emily Bush each scored once. Johnson, Ladouceur and Bush also shared goaltending duties. Other winners were Edwards-Knox, FC Freeze, McDuff's. and Salmon River.

Edwards-Knox 7, Harrisville 1: Vanessa Bullock and Krystal Forbes each scored two goals and Kim Bullock, Rochelle Whitton, and Alex Perry each connected once for Edwards-Knox who received solid goaltending from Lacey Leroux and Becca Bullock.

FC Freeze 7, Star Lake 0: FC Freeze opened to a 4-0 halftime lead as Abby VanGelton scored twice in the first half both unassisted. Mel Mauer scored Kamrie Dandrow and Dandrow connected from Durocher also in the first half. In the second half, Durocher scored unassisted and Dandrow hooked up twice from Katherine Polido and Alex Troli.

Emily Johnson made one save for the shutout. Nichole French (8 saves) and Ashley Thomas (4 saves) shared the crease for Star Lake.

McDuff's 3, Canton 2: Kaila Maguire, Monique Cornett, and Ginnette Cornett scored for McDufs. Megan Emlaw and Monique Cornett shared the crease.

Ton's 0, Dow Electric 0: Liz Durfee turned in a stellar 16-save performance backstopping the Ton's half of the double shutout. Stephanie Collins handled all eight shots she faced in helping to keep Dow Electric undefeated at 13-0-2.
