Improvement Keys 8-6 Season By MCS Modified Baseball
MORRISTOWN - The Morristown Modified Baseball team made great strides in the 2010 season under the direction of Coach Kyle Sharp.
"It was a privilege to coach this team. We had a 8-6 record for the season and each player improved tremendously throughout the season. We had our ups and downs but we saved our best and played our best for last. That's what we look for as coaches," said Sharp. "We had a lot of seventh graders that I look forward to watching next season."
Honored with special team awards were: James Richard (Coaches Award), Jake VanArnam (Hustle Award), Luke King (Most Improved), Zach Kanaly (Mr. Versatility), Matt Tuper (Most Valuable) and Jacob Fox (Most Valuable Pitcher). Presented participation awards were Ian Bailey, Austin Brooks, Dakota Colby, Devin Dulmage, Fox, Tristan Gilmour, Kanaly, King, Chris Perretta, Richard, Brandon Shaver, Aaron Stout, Tuper, Jake VanArnam, and Karter VanArnam.

Morristown 18, Hammond 5: Matt Tuper smacked a double and two singles and Jacob Fox (4IP), Jake VanArnam (2IP) and Zach Kanaly (1IP) combined for six strikeouts. Chris Perretta, Jacob Fox, Brendon Shaver, Karter VanArnam, Austin Brooks, and James Richard singled for the winners.
Morristown 1, Edwards-Knox 0: Jake VanArnam contributed two singles while Jacob Fox, Matt Tuper, and Karter VanArnam each singled.
Harrisville 18, Morristown 5: Jacob Fox lined two singles and a double in the setback where Chris Perretta (single), Zach Kanaly (single), Matt Tuper (single), Tristan Gilmour (single), Karter VanArnam (single), and Luke King (single).
Lisbon 19, Morristown 18: In a close offensive encounter, Matt Tuper smacked a double and a single and Brandon Shaver and Luke King each singled twice to lead Morristown. Brandon Stout added a double while Chris Perretta, Zach Kanaly, and Karter VanArnam all singled.
Morristown 24, H-D 5: Jacob Fox collected two singles and Aaron Stout supplied three singles as both players pitched solid in a victory. Matt Tuper led all hitters with a triple and three singles while Tristan Gilmour added four singles. Karter VanArnam chipped in a single.
Morristown 19, Hammond 15: Luke King (single), Jake VanArnam and Aaron Stout all combined in the winning pitching effort and Chris Perretta led the attack with three singles. Other contributors were: Zach Kanaly (two singles), Matt Tuper (two singles, double), Luke King (single), Karter VanArnam (two singles), and Devin Dulmage (two singles).
Morrristown 12, E-K 6: Jacob Fox, Aaron Stout (double), Zach Kanaly (double, single), and Devin Dulmage (single) combined to pitch the Morristown. Chris Perretta (single, double), Luke King (three singles) and James VanArnam, Devin Dulmage and Brandon Shaver to lead the offensive support.
Harrisville 10, Morristown 4: Matt Tuper led the offense for Morristown with a double and two singles. Other support came from: Chris Perretta (single), Karter VanArnam (single), Jacob Fox (single, double), and Devin Dulmage (single).
Lisbon 15, Morristown 9: Aaron Stout (two singles), Matt Tuper (single, double), Chris Perretta (single), Jacob Fox (single), and Devin Dulmage (two singles) all contributed solid offensive efforts for the Rockets.
Heuvelton 10, Morristown 3: Zach Kanaly connected for a double and a single for Morristown who also received two singles from Matt Tuper. Jacob Fox (single), Karter VanArnan (single), Jake VanArnam (single) all produced a hit.
Heuvelton 11, Morristown 2: Tristan Gilmour collected two hits and Zach Kanaly, Jacob Fox, Jake VanArnam all singled for Morristown.
Morristown 15, H-D 7: Luke King, Aaron Stout, and Devin Dulmage all pitched the win. Offensively, Devin Dulmage supplied three singles while Austin Brooks connected for two singles. Chris Perretta, Matt Tuper, Luke King, James, Jake VanArnam all singled.
Morristown 17, C-F 7: Jacob Fox pitched the complete game victory as Chris Perretta lined two singles and a double, Zach Kanaly ripped a single, Matt Tuper stroked a triple and a single, Karter VanArnam rapped two singles, Jake VanArnam connected for two singles, Tristen Gilmour and Devin Dulmage each supplied a single.
Morristown 14, C-F 10: Aaron Stout, Zach Kanaly and Devin Dulmage combined to pitch the win. Offensively, Devin Dulmage and Matt Tuper each singled twice, Zach Kanaly and Jacob Fox doubled and Chris Perretta singled.
