Lady Devils Look To Make Uptempo Soccer Rise
OFA Girls Soccer Coach Lauren Morley feels that speed and the ability to play aggressively under control gives her Lady Blue Devils an excellent opportunity to decidedly better last year's 2-10-2 NAC Central record.
That accelerated opportunity will be anchored straight up the middle of the field with seniors in Alana Ashley at sweeper, Jessica Denoncourt at stopper and Chelsea Martin at center halfback and junior Mackenzie Cole on the front line. "I have a great deal of confidence in this team. We have a lot of speed and the girls are playing well together and picking things up quickly. Moving Chelsea Martin into the middle to work with Jessica Denoncourt will give us the ability to play different formations and Alana Ashley will play very aggressively at sweeper." said Coach Morley who will have her team at home on Monday and Tuesday night to host Lisbon, Heuvelton and Salmon River in the Lady Blue Devil Invitational. OFA meets Class B opponent Salmon River in the first round after at 6 p.m. matchup between Heuvelton and Lisbon.
"Mackenzie Cole will move from goal to the front line because she has the athletic ability and speed to make things happen. We had trouble scoring last year and we just couldn't win those one-goal games. We have been feeding the ball very well in practice and we getting nice, strong crosses from the outside."
Junior Allysha Bracy moves into the starting goaltender spot and has working very hard with Assistant Coach Danielle Limoges. Makenzi Stevenson provides excellent speed and the ability to play all midfield spots.
