Heuvelton, Chateaugay Girls Play To Season-Opening Tie

CANTON - Heuvelton and defending Section 10 Class D champion Chateaugay played to a 1-1 season-opening double overtime draw on Saturday in girls soccer action at SUNY Canton. Heuvelton opened the scoring in the 11th minute as Danielle Tani took a corner kick which was knocked into the back of the net by Abby Basford.

Chateaugay tied the score in the first minute of the second half as Hannah Cook connected from Raquel Fowler.

Sanna Jaquith made four saves in goal for Heuvelton while Maykayla Fleury and Shelby Coleman split time in goal and combined for 10 stops for Chatgeaugay
