Skip Wright teamed with Bill Watson to start the Ogdensburg City Golf Championship at the St. Lawrence State Park course in 1988. Watson won the first title and 21 years later Wright won his first tournament championship.
According to Tounament Co-Director Chuck Ladouceur, Wright definitely plans to defend his title in the 2010 Tournament which is scheduled to be played on Friday, Saturday, Sunday Sept. 10-11-12.
The tournament will utilize a three-day format for the first time so that golfers can play their first round on either Friday or Saturday according to Ladouceur who directs the tourney with Jeff Hooper.
"We are going to a three-day format to make it easier for more people to play," said Ladouceur.
"We are looking to get as many golfers involved as possible. The flags will be kept in the same positions on Friday and Saturday."
The tournament will offer three flights: Championship, A Flight, B Flight and golfers may play their first round with any other players in the tournament.
