Two Canton residents were charged with disorderly conduct by city police following an altercation Sunday at 1:34 a.m. in the 100 block of Oak Street. Billy J. Shannon, 18, and Patricia L. Dawson, 45, both of 4 Prospect St., were released on appearance tickets returnable in city court on Sept. 16, according to city police.

Billy J. Shannon, 18, of 4 Prospect St., Canton, was charged by city police on Sunday at 12:36 a.m. in the 100 block of Oak Street, for open container and underage possession of alcohol. City police say he was issued city summons' returnable in city court on Sept. 23.

Shannon L. Zanker, 34, of 30 Morley Park Drive, was charged by city police on Sunday at 12:36 a.m. in the 100 block of Oak Street, for open container. According to city police, he was issued a city summons returnable in city court on Sept. 23.

An employee of Nice-n-Easy, 301 Champlain St., reported to city police on Saturday at 11:52 p.m., that a male subject took two 30-packs of beer without paying. City police say an investigation continues.

Craig W. Perry, 22, of 1083 East Road, Heuvelton, was charged by city police on Saturday at 11:32 p.m. in the 100 block of Oak Street, for open container. According to city police, he was issued a city summons returnable in city court on Sept. 23.

Ryan M. Farrell, 19, of 77 Rensselaer St., Heuvelton, was charged by city police on Saturday at 9:35 p.m. at 800 Park St., on a city court bench warrant for revocation of release under the supervision of probation. City police say he was arraigned in city court and ordered held in St. Lawrence County Correctional Facility, Canton, on $1,500 cash bail or $3,000 bond.

Rickie D. Lawton, 17, of 131 Paterson St., was charged by city police on Saturday at 7:34 p.m. in the 200 block of Denny Street on a city court bench warrant for failure to appear. According to city police, the warrant stems from prior charges of unregistered snowmobile, uninsured snowmobile, and operating a snowmobile in the roadway. He was released on an appearance ticket returnable today in city court, according to city police.

Richard J. LaRue, 34, of 813 Mechanic St., was charged by city police on Saturday at 6:22 p.m. in the 1000 block of Morris Street, for second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation and no seatbelt. City police say he was released on an appearance ticket returnable today in city court.

An employee of Kinney Drugs, 700 Canton St., reported a shoplifter to city police on Saturday at 6:20 p.m.
