Dunking Booth Coming To Labor Day Celebration
HEUVELTON - Heuvelton's Labor Day celebration will include something new this year, a dunking booth for area celebrities.
The Italian-themed events begin Friday with an auction hosted by the Heuvelton Leos and a variety of new games at the boat launch.
Steve J. Brooks, Labor Day Committee member, said that the dunking booth will take place on Saturday from 10 a.m. to dusk and Sunday from noon to dusk at the boat launch area in Heuvelton. You get three chances for a $1.
Dunking booth victims include Wolfman Bill from 95.3 as well as other area dignitaries and local residents, according to Mr. Brooks.
Mr. Brooks said that the dunking booth is yet another fundraiser for the fireworks show set for Sunday night that costs approximately $3,500.
"I'm hoping it's going to be a good fundraiser to help pay for the fireworks," said Mr. Brooks.
Committee Co-Chair Shirley Todd expects the dunking booth to be a popular event for those taking part in the Labor Day celebration.
"It should be a blast. It's the first time having one, but it should be fun for everyone," said Ms. Todd.
Buttons and T-shirts can be purchased at H&S Diner and PJ's. Donations are also welcome and can be sent to: Heuvelton Labor Day Committee, P.O. Box 81, Heuvelton, N.Y., 13654.
