Lionel G. "Pete" LaCourse
WADDINGTON - Mr. Lionel G. "Pete" LaCourse, 77, of 282 River Road, Waddington, passed away on Saturday evening (Aug. 28, 2010) at Massena Memorial Hospital, where he had been a patient since Wednesday.
Services will be held privately at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
Arrangements are with the Donaldson Funeral Home, Massena.
Pete is survived by his seven children, Steve LaCourse and wife Robin of Massena, Gary LaCourse and wife Joyce of Rochester, Cathy Abrena and husband Jose of Balston Lake, Susan Quenelle and husband Terry of Saratoga, Timmie LaCourse of Massena, David LaCourse of San Diego, Calif., and Daniel LaCourse of Kansas City, Kansas; eight grandchildren; three brothers, Julian LaCourse and wife Phyllis of Massena, Claude LaCourse and wife Rita of North Carolina and Ronald LaCourse and wife Lynn of Syracuse; and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by two brothers, Guy H. and Marcil LaCourse.
Pete was born Jan. 9, 1933 in Massena, the son of Horace O. and Juliette A. Matheau LaCourse. He graduated from Massena High School.
He married Helen Beaudet Aug. 30, 1952 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Massena. She predeceased him on Jan. 16, 2002.
He first worked at Alcoa before going to Reynold's Metal, where he became a ship mechanic. At the age of 62, he retired after many years of service.
Pete was a communicant of St. Mary's Church, Waddington, and was also a bee keeper for many years. He enjoyed fishing and doing carpentry work.
