Drew/Murray, Pandel/Dean Win Division Titles At Murray's Thurs. Nite Golf League

WADDINGTON - The A and B Division races were decided last Thursday night on the final night of regular play at the Murray's Thursday Nite League at the Twin Brooks Golf Course.Vern Drew and Brek Murray went wire to wire to win the A Division and Rich Pandel and Pat Dean held off their nearest challengers to win the B division.

Teams are also reminded that this week will be the "Second Chance Tournament which will be a nine hole captain and crew format. Prizes will be awarded at the annual banquet next Thursday night, Sept. 9 at 7:15 p.m. as long as we are not rained out this week.

The teams will play a nine hole playoff for the overall league championship.

Individual honors last Thursday went to Matt Rutherford who birdied #15, #17 and #18 to finish with a round of one under 34.

Under 40 Club: Matt Rutherford 34, Vern Drew 36, John Dinneen 37, Dan Dinneen 38, Rich Pandel 38, Jack Duncan 39 and Dave Forsythe 39.

Birdie Brigade: Matt Rutherford #15, #17 and #18, Dennis McGaw #13, Gary Lapointe #17, Jack Duncan #15, Vern Drew #11, John Dinneen #4, Bobby Domena #4, Rich Pandel #7, Dan Dinneen #4, Richard Fairbridge #8, and Matt Rose #1.

Low Individual Net: A Division Vern Drew 29, B Division Kevin Barkley 31.

Low Team Net: A Division Vern Drew/Brek Murray 64, B Division Kevin Barkley/Joe Erwin 70.
