Area Motorists Charged With DWI
The following motorists were charged with alcohol-related offenses:
* James D. Wright, 62, of 1421 Middle Road, Ogdensburg, was charged Sunday with driving while intoxicated and reckless driving after he nearly struck a state trooper who was handling a separate traffic stop on State Route 812 in the town of Oswegatchie, state police said.
His blood alcohol content was 0.17 percent.
* Raymond J. Holcomb, 36, of 12526 Route 37, Waddington, was charged Friday with felony aggravated DWI after being stopped on County Route 38 in Lisbon, troopers said.
He was charged under Leandra's Law because he had a 14-month-old child in the car. He also had a prior DWI conviction in the past 10 years. His BAC was 0.13 percent.
* David P. Todd, 19, Gouverneur, was charged Saturday with DWI after reportedly being found in a car on Old Route 58 in the town of Gouverneur, state police said.
He reportedly had pulled over to puke when troopers spotted him. He registered a 0.08 percent BAC.
* John K. O'Grady, 32, of 35 Church St., Lisbon, was charged Monday with aggravated DWI and failure to keep right when stopped on County Route 28A in the town of Oswegatchie, troopers said. His BAC was 0.20 percent.
* David C. Brown, 66, Gouverneur, was charged Sunday with aggravated DWI and speeding after he reportedly crashed his vehicle into guard rails on Route 58 in the town Gouverneur, troopers said. His BAC was 0.18 percent.
* Brandon J. Benedict, 20, of 135 Geronimo Lane, Hogansburg, was charged Saturday with DWI and speeding when stopped on Route 37 in Massena, state police said.
His BAC was 0.13 percent.
