Funeral services for Louis John Simmons, "Red" "Screwy Louie", age 48, of Lake Street, Hammond, will be held on Wednesday, September 8, 2010 at Frary Funeral Home at 8:00 P.M. with Rev. Walter Smith officiating. Calling hours will be held on September 8, 2010 at Frary Funeral Home from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Mr. Simmons passed away on September 6, 2010 at his home. With his loving family at his side

Mr. Simmons is survived by his companion of 24 years, Nicole Bice; three sons, Jamie, Raymond and Tyler, all of Hammond; one daughter, Bridget Simmons of Hammond; three brothers, Albert Simmons and his wife Mary of Nolonville, TX, Guy Simmons of FL and Dale Simmons of Hammond; nine sisters, Betty Barse and her companion Harold Arquette of Hammond, Iva Johnson and her husband George of Heuvelton, Becky Parow of Morristown, Florence Cardinal and her husband Gordon, Tacoma, WA, Susan Hart of FL, Cindy Barse and her husband Earl of Morristown, Dixie Conger and companion John Beaulieu of Ogdensburg, Linda Bouchey and her husband Randy of Dekalb, Cecila Stowell and her husband Bob of Depeyster; one granddaughter, Brianna Lothier; two grandsons, Nathaniel Simmons and Antonio Simmons; several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his son, Louis John Simmons and two nephews Robert Parow and Albert Simmons.

Mr. Simmons was born on January 7, 1962 in Ogdensburg, the son of Guy and Margaret (Bacon) Simmons. He attended schools in Hammond.

Mr. Simmons enjoyed spending quality time with his family. He loved junking cars and was a great mechanic.
