Ogdensburg police arrested three people early Thursday for selling crack cocaine as part of a series of county-wide raids by the St. Lawrence County Drug Task Force, capping what they described as a lengthy investigation.

Charged with Class B felony third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance were: David T. Geddes, 27, of 7407 Route 37, Ogdensburg; Eric R. M. Miller, 20, of 822 New York Ave., Ogdensburg; and Michelle B. Homer, 47, of 901 Mechanic St.

All three were arraigned in city court by Judge George E. Silver, who entered not guilty pleas on their behalf. Mr. Geddes and Miss Homer were released to the supervision of probation and ordered to appear in court Sept. 14 with assigned counsel.

Mr. Miller has charges pending against him, including a burglary in Ogdensburg.

Upon the recommendation of the St. Lawrence County District Attorney's Office, Mr. Miller was ordered by Judge Silver to be held in the St. Lawrence County Correctional Facility, Canton, on $5,000 bail/$10,000 bond. He is set for a preliminary hearing in city court on Sept. 14.

Two more arrests are pending, according to Det. Daniel C. Mousaw.

Det. Sgt. Harry J. McCarthy said Wednesday the city arrests were part of an investigation with the St. Lawrence County Drug Task Force.

According to city court documents, the three suspects are accused of selling a white, chunky substance that was later tested positive for crack cocaine to a confidential police informant earlier this year - Mr. Miller and Miss Homer in March and Mr. Geddes in July.

One-gram quantities were involved in the transactions allegedly involving Mr. Miller and Miss Homer. The sale allegedly involving Mr. Geddes involved two grams.

Det. Mousaw said one gram of crack cocaine has a street sale value of $100.
