PHILADELPHIA - Entering the final seven minutes of Thursday's nonleague boys soccer game at Indian River, OFA was looking for spark to break a 1-1 tie.

They received it 110 yards away from the Warriors' goal as Devil keeper Tyler Carrow preserved the tie with a brilliant diving save on a low shot headed for the corner of the net. Two minutes later, Grant Prudhomme rifled a low drive from just outside of the 18 yardline for his seventh goal of the season.

The Devils held serve over the final five minutes to claim a 2-1 win and a 4-0 record.

"We were really tested today. Indian River was very aggressive and physical and they beat us to a lot of 50/50 balls," said OFA Coach Matt Morley who will have his at home for league action against Norwood-Norfolk on Tuesday and for a 1 p.m. Saturday game with Chazy, one of the premier Class D programs in New York State. "After giving up a goal two minutes after we took a 1-1 lead, we with settled things down and had a lot of good chances. Tyler Carrow made a huge save late in the game and we answered the wake-up call."

The Devils opened the scoring in the third minute of the game on a pretty three-way play which saw Grant Prudhomme use a flick header to direct a Jerry Guimond throw-in to J.P. Burns who one-timed the ball into net from close range.

"It was great to see J.P. Burns score. He was in perfect position near the post," said Coach Morley.

Zac Dodin was in perfect position to net an equalizer for Indian River two minutes later after being set up by a service from Dave Heese.

Carrow finished with seven saves in the OFA goal and Troy LeClair handled 13 shots for Indian River.

IR 4 JV'S - OFA JVS 0: Jacob Sias stopped 14 shots in goal for the Devil JV's and Chris Axtell, Aaron Peo, Jordan Fifield and Pat Cosmo were cited by Coach Jim Howard for strong defensive efforts. Providing midfield leadership according to Coach Howard were: Matt Piercey, David Prudhomme, Andy Guimond, Garrett Calton and Justin Feldt and Conor Hannan and Nate Peo were cited for excellent front line play.
