Clarkson goalie Paul Karpowich has a new mask design this year which pays tribute to the history of Clarkson's program. The paint job features four of Clarkson's Stanley Cup winners as well as Dave Taylor, who is widely recognized as the best player to ever play at Clarkson.
Here's a brief conversation with Paul and a look at his new gear (for some reason the first six seconds of audio is very low, but you are only missing me asking him why he changed his design):
To conclude today's post I will give a general weekly schedule of what to expect here. This can vary from week to week given circumstances, but will mostly be followed:
Sunday & Monday - no posts, except rare instances where there is a Sunday game (like this weekend)
Tuesday - Pro Hockey Updates: This will rotate, starting with NHL report one week, followed by AHL the next, followed by alumni playing in ECHL and other assorted American and European leagues the following week. I hope to show every goal scored in the NHL by a Clarkson alum.
Wednesday - Video Report from practice. There will be more video this year so I should have something up every week that shows an interview or two as well as some practice footage. (There will be no report this coming Wednesday because the team is leaving at about 8 a.m. to head to Omaha, Nebraska, for the season opener.).
Thursday - A look at the rest of the ECAC with video clips when available.
Friday and Saturday - Game previews which will be up at least three hours before every game (sometimes earlier if I have to cover a doubleheader with women's game.). There will be a brief report before Sunday's exhibition opener with Carleton as well.
Also there will be video reports for every home game and a few non-home games that I cover. Those may or may not make it online after the games are over. If we get a posting up too late, or too close to midnight, it sometimes does not show up until the following morning. But I hope after each home game to get some video interviews up as well as a highlight or two.
Lastly, a reminder that you may want to add me to twitter, if you use it: @CapCareyWDT because I will be posting some live updates during home games on twitter, as well as some pre-game reports (line combinations or if I find out someone is hurt or who is not dressing that night, etc. Also will try to post a few pictures and perhaps a video link as well, but that may not be possible until after the game is over).
