POTSDAM — Clarkson University senior Scott Desmond has been announced as an NCAA fall sports postgraduate scholarship winner.
Desmond, who played men’s soccer at Clarkson, is one of only 29 male fall-sport athletes nationally, and the only Liberty League member, to receive the one-time grant of $7,500.
To qualify an athlete must excel academically and athletically, be in their final year of eligibility and plan on attending graduate school. They also must have at least a 3.2 grade-point average and be nominated by their school’s faculty athletics representative.
Desmond, a native of Enfield, Conn., has a 3.84 grade-point average in Interdisciplinary Engineering and Management. He was a three-time Liberty League All-Star and the conference’s Rookie of the Year in 2007.
