When I mess up, I fess up.

Spokesman Jim Reagen notes that state Sen. Patty Ritchie has also received donations from the IBEW, which I failed to note in this story that mentioned a donation from the nuclear station where they're striking from.

As Mr. Reagen notes, that's pretty misleading (though my mistake was unintentional). It suggests that she was taking sides. But, fact is, she met with both sides to get them to come back to the table and has taken donations from both sides.

Mess up No. 2 also inadvertently made someone look bad, the result of the residual difficulties we're having with the new way of putting out the paper. A story I wrote about a $100 donation from Dede Scozzafava to Rep. Bill Owens appeared in the paper today, after already having appeared on Tuesday. That made it seem to some as if another donation was made. There was not.

Apologies all around to Mrs. Ritchie, Ms. Scozzafava and the readers.

Now I'm going to crawl into a dark place and cry a little bit!
