Gov. Andrew Cuomo's job-creating local leader pow-wows will begin meeting this week, with the north country's economic council putting together heads on Friday.
They'll meet at 11 a.m. at SUNY Potsdam, though it's not clear whether the meeting will be open to the public and where, exactly, it will be held.
The "regional economic development councils" are focused on improving the state's economy by localizing the efforts.
Mr. Cuomo's administration appointed local leaders to sit on the panels. And apparently these lists are fluid: according to this website, the president of Kinney Drugs will sit on the council. Bridget Hart's name wasn't on the original, emailed news release.
If the meeting in Potsdam on Friday is public, I have a feeling I know what will be discussed: the possible merger of the SUNY Potsdam and SUNY Canton campuses. We've struggled to find answers so far on the future of our universities up here.
