I've written here before about the efforts of north country folks to help out those in Schoharie County who have been rocked by flooding in the wake of brutal storms.
Debi Christman, one of the rescue workers there, sent me an email and told me that this isn't the first time the north country and Schoharie County have crossed paths on disaster aid. In 1998, the north country was hit with an ice storm of epic proportions.
"We thought you'd find it interesting to note that fire departments in Schoharie County responded to assist that effort with manpower and generators in the Upper Jay area for several days. Two members of the Carlisle Fire Department were among that group, Gus Christman and Larry Face, along with members of the Middleburgh and Schoharie Departments," Ms. Christman writes in an email. "We have come full circle!"
