St. Lawrence returned to practice this week after a disappointing road trip in which it lost to Michigan, 10-3, and then surrendered a tying goal with nine seconds left in regulation before losing in overtime, 6-5, to RIT.
Associate head coach Mike Hurlbut said the lengthy break between games (St. Lawrence doesn't play again until Nov. 4) comes at the perfect time. It gives the staff a chance to shore up the defense and goalie situation. St. Lawrence is currently giving up 6.25 goals per game while scoring 2.75.
In good news: Freshman Patrick Doherty's two-goal performance against RIT earned him the ECAC Hockey Rookie of the Week. Also, head coach Joe Marsh is doing well, according to Mike Hurlbut. That said, there is still no timetable for a return.
