Gov. Andrew Cuomo, the guy whom three out of four New Yorkers approve of, has been making endorsements in local races around the state, but not yet in the north country.
And from my armchair analysis, it's unlikely to happen because of the lack of big races here.
The only race I wouldn't be surprised to see Mr. Cuomo weigh in on is the St. Lawrence County clerk race between Democrat Gavin Regan, whom he appointed, and Republican Mary Lou Rupp.
And here in Jefferson County, the only big race is the nonpartisan mayoral contest between incumbent Jeff Graham and Councilman Jeff Smith. Because of the nonpartisan nature of the race, don't hold your breath on that one.
We also have a few low-key judge and county Leg races.
Will any north country candidates get the Cuomo nod? Time will tell, but I'm trending toward no.
