Clarkson:The Golden Knights have gone 5-0-1 in their last six games, all against Atlantic Hockey opponents, and are 4-0 so far this season at Cheel Arena. Clarkson has won five of its last eight matchups against RPI, but has lost seven straight games to Union, being outscored 42-13.

RPI:The Engineers have lost five straight games, but all of the games were against teams ranked in the U.S. College Hockey Online's top 20. Scoring has been a problem for RPI this season. The Engineers have only scored four goals in their current losing streak.
Union:The only loss for the Dutchmen this season was a 2-1 overtime defeat at New Hampshire on Friday. Union bounced back with a 5-2 win over American International in Schenectady on Saturday. The Dutchmen are 20-11-4 in road contests over the last two-plus years and are the defending ECAC Hockey regular-season champions.
Who to Watch
Nick Tremblay has one goal and three assists in six career games against RPI. Corey Tamblyn hsa scored three goals in four games against the Engineers. Andrew Himelson has three assists in two games against RPI. Paul Karpowich is 3-3 with a 3.02 goals-against average and a .901 save percentage against RPI. ... Tamblyn is also Clarkson's leading scorer against Union with two goals in five games. Tremblay has three assists against Union and Louke Oakley has one goal and one assist in seven games. Karpowich is 0-5 with a 5.53 gaa and an .857 save percentage against the Dutchmen.
RPI:The leading scorer so far for the Engineers is senior Joel Malchuk with two goals. Alex Angers-Goulet, Guy Leboeuf, Nick Bailen, Johnny Rogic, Patrick Cullen and Pat Koudys have also scored for the Engineers. The primary goalie has been Bryce Merriam, who is 1-4 with a 2.23 gaa and a .925 save percentage. Scott Diebold has played in two games and is 0-2 with a 2.04 gaa and a .913 save percentage.
Union:Kelly Zajac, who is three points shy of 100 for his career, leads Union with 2 goals and 9 assists. Mat Bodie has two goals and six assists. Wayne Simpson and Jeremy Welsh have each scored five goals with two assists. Troy Grosenick has been the primary goalie and is 2-1-2 with a 1.51 gaa and a .936 save percentage. Colin Stevens is 1-0-1 with a 2.55 gaa and a .912 save percentage. Zajac has three goals and six assists lifetime against Clarkson. Bodie has three goals and three assists and Welsh has two goals and three assists.

Last Meeting
vs. RPI:
The Engineers snapped a 1-1 tie after two with a four-goal third period to win 5-1 at Cheel Arena on Feb. 19. It was 3-1 when Guy Leboeuf scored an empty-net goal at 18 minutes, 16 seconds of the third period. RPI added a shorthanded goal with five seconds remaining.
vs. Union:Clarkson trailed 3-0 after two periods then rallied with a three-goal outburst in the third period to force overtime. Corey Tamblyn, Ben Sexton and Scott Freeman scored the goals. But Union won the game in overtime with a goal from Wayne Simpson at 3:48.
Odds and Ends:Clarkson leads RPI 81-44-8 all time and has more wins against the Engineers than any other RPI opponent. Clarkson's power play ranks fourth in the nation at 27.3 percent and the penalty kills is eighth at 89.1 percent. Nick Tremblay has scored a goal in four straight games and Allan McPherson has three straight game-winning goals for Clarkson. Clarkson has jumped on teams early this year, scoring first in all but two games and outscoring the opposition 22-8 in the first two periods. ...RPI is 6-2-2 in its last 10 conference openers. The Engineers have been outscored 21-8, but six of the goals have been late empty-net goals. RPI has not scored first in any game this season and has not led at the end of the first period this year. In its only win, RPI did lead after the second period, but that was the only time all year. ... Union has been ranked in the U.S. College Hockey Online poll for 42 straight weeks and is No. 11 currently. The Dutchmen have scored first four times and are 2-0-2 in those games, but 1-1-1 when the opposition scores first. Union is 3-0-1 if it leads after one or two periods and the Dutchmen are 3-0-2 when they score at least one power-play goal. Union is 0-1-1 when it does not score a power-play goal.
Final note: When Clarkson travels to face Union and RPI on Jan. 27-28, both games will be televised on Time Warner Cable.
