Republican Matt Doheny was on a Fox Business show Monday, after his Democratic opponent got a very friendly reception there.
Mr. Doheny "thought that maybe I was a little bit too kind" to Rep. Bill Owens, D-Plattsburgh, said the host, Tracy Byrnes.
For his part, Mr. Doheny laughed, but didn't disagree.
"My opponent, the first thing he did when he got to Congress was vote for Obamacare," Mr. Doheny said.
Mr. Doheny, a former portfolio manager who worked on Wall Street and is from Alex Bay, laid out his vision: growing. He even managed to give kudos to a former Democratic president.
"You look back at the (Ronald) Reagan years, even the (Bill) Clinton years, our growth was dynamic," Mr. Doheny said.
He said that confidence was the key for regulations.
"We're not going to change more rules on you, and add more rules. ... You can't love jobs and hate the job creators. That's what's going on with my opponent."
