Clarkson won its fourth straight game against rival St. Lawrence University Tuesday night, edging the Saints 5-3 before 2,116 fans in an ECAC Hockey game at Appleton Arena.
It's the longest win streak over SLU for the Golden Knights in 13 years. Clarkson also won four straight against the Saints between 1996-98.
The Golden Knights (9-6-4 overall, 3-4-2 conference) took a 2-0 lead after one period off goals from Joe Zarbo and Will Frederick.
SLU (5-10, 4-5) cut the lead to 2-1 when Chris Martin scored just 77 seconds into the second period, but a goal from Corey Tamblyn at 11:10 gave Clarkson a 3-1 lead after two periods.
The Saints rallied to tie the game 3-3 with goals from Jordan Dewey (5:35) and Mark Armstrong (11:45).
But, for a second straight year, Clarkson's Matt Zarbo broke SLU fans hearts with a game-winning goal, this one coming at 16:56. Frederick ended the scoring with an empty-net goal at 19:52.3.
