Harry Wilson, a Republican who nearly won a top position in state government last year, will be the finance chairman of Matt Doheny's congressional campaign.
Mr. Wilson and Mr. Doheny serve on a corporate board together.
According to a news release from the Doheny camp, Mr. Wilson will lead a 50-person fundraising team.
Mr. Doheny also hired Jason Feulner of Fayetteville as finance director. It's a paid position and Mr. Doheny's third hire, after spokesman Jude Seymour and volunteer coordinator Alicia Sirk, of Plattsburgh. The finance director will help coordinate fundraising activities locally, a day-to-day office job.
He has worked for Rep. Ann Marie Buerkle, R-Onondaga Hill, according to a LinkedIn profile.
Mr. Wilson lost a race for state comptroller to Thomas DiNapoli, a Democrat.
