Sex Offender's Sentencing Adjourned
A registered sex offender's sentencing in Ogdensburg City Court Tuesday for failing to register his address with authorities was adjourned to next month.
Alexander K. McLean, 48, pleaded guilty to a charge of attempted failure to register as a sex offender, and will be back in court for sentencing on Jan. 20.
Mr. McLean, of Ogdensburg, was accused in January of listing his address as 3454A Route 68, Canton, when he hadn't lived there since Nov. 6, 2010.
Mr. McLean, according to published reports, was convicted in 2007 of first-degree sexual abuse for having sexual contact with a 6-year-old girl in the town of Morristown. Mr. McLean is registered as a Level 1 sex offender.
In other cases before Judge William R. Small on Tuesday:
James R. Crobar, 22, of 627 Irvine St., Ogdensburg, was adjourned to Dec. 20 after pleading not guilty to Nov. 25 charges related to chase by Ogdensburg police. He was charged with five counts of failure to stop at a stop sign, two counts each of resisting arrest and unlawfully fleeing a police officer, failure to comply with a lawful order, speed unreasonable, driving while ability impaired by drugs and third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation.
Mr. Crobar is represented by the St. Lawrence County Public Defender's Office.
Shawn W. Fuller, 32, and his wife, Melissa A., both of 801 Morris St., Ogdensburg, each pleaded not guilty to Dec. 1 charges of endangering the welfare of a child and unlawful possession of marijuana. According to court records, there was marijuana and the scent of it burning was evident in their apartment in the presence of their two daughters, ages 15 and 4.
