City Police Seek Investigation Help
Ogdensburg police are hoping to speak with two women who may be able to assist their investigation into the alleged sexual assault of a woman early Tuesday morning.
Ogdensburg Police Detective Sgt. Robert Wescott said Wednesday that the alleged assault occurred inside the Dixie Lee Fried Chicken restaurant, 432 State St., and was reported to police by the woman at 3:29 a.m.
The restaurant was closed at the time of the alleged incident.
Mr. Wescott said the woman notified police after being driven home by two women who offered her a ride when they saw her walking on Lafayette Street near the Oswegatchie River bridge to Spring Street on the city's west side.
Mr. Wescott said he wants the two women to call him at 393-1551 so he can speak to them about the complaint. He declined to specify what he wants to discuss with the women, but he did say they are not suspects.
