Despite what you may have read in the paper, I know that Christmas has already passed.
Due to a production error, my story was sliced in a weird way that made it read: “'With that, I would vote to accept the money,' [Mr. Decker] added to laughter from the assembled members of the General Services Committee at the group's meeting before Christmas."
The event, of course, was last night. So technically, it was before Christmas 2012, so I was tempted to stick to my guns on this one, but since it wasn't my fault, I figured I'd let you in on the correction.
Here's how it should have read: "'With that, I would vote to accept the money,' he added to laughter from the assembled members of the General Services Committee at the group’s first meeting this year. The project was finished just meeting before Christmas. It will save the county more than $20,000 a year because the new fluorescent bulbs are more energy-efficient than the bulbs that previously illuminated the building, Mr. Decker said."
