Doughnuts with Doheny

When Rep. Bill Owens says something or does something or visits somewhere, the media take note, and the voters come out to listen. It's one of the benefits of incumbency for the two-term Democrat of Plattsburgh.
That makes Doughnuts with Doheny all the more ingenious.
Republican Matt Doheny will host informal sit-down chats around the district, with a sort of carrot for those who show up. Except it's not a carrot. It's a doughnut.
Complimentary water, coffee and, of course, doughnuts will be served.
“Doughnuts with Doheny is a perfect opportunity for me to have a running dialogue with our district residents about their issues, whether big or small," Mr. Doheny says in news release.
(Hilariously, Mayor Jeff Graham says Mr. Doheny is reaching out to the Chris Christie wing of the party. Bravo, Mr. Mayor.)
Here is the schedule, according to the campaign (already in Associated Press style, as was the word doughnuts, mind you. Jude Seymour at his finest).
10 a.m. Jan. 21: Oneida Recreation Center, 217 Cedar St., Oneida.
9 a.m. Jan. 28: Castaways Riverside Restaurant, 916 County Route 37, Central Square
9 a.m. Feb. 4: Cape Vincent Recreation Center, 602 S. James St., Cape Vincent
