What perplexes me most about this whole affair is the fact that school district officials and legislators don't see things the same way. Sure, they're saying they're going to fight for more aid. But I've heard nary a bombastic word.
Granted, the north country's legislative delegation, like all legislative delegations, is reluctant to come out strong in support of the statement, "The sky is blue" before taking a hard look at the specifics.
But I reckon that if our governor had a 70 percent disapproval rating, instead of a 70 percent approval rating, the anti-school aid tea would be a lot stronger.
