Freezing Rain Closes Most Local Schools
FRIDAY, JANUARY 27, 2012
Freezing rain is falling across St. Lawrence County and with a weather advisory calling for icing, sleet and snow until 7 p.m. tonight several schools in the region are giving staff and students a three-day weekend.
Colton-Pierrepont Central is the only school in St. Lawrence County that did not close or delay the opening of school today. Clifton Fine is currently on a two-hour delay.
St. Regis Falls, Salmon River, Brushton-Moira and Malone in Franklin County are also among a number of schools in the region that have closed school for the second Friday in three weeks.
Ice also resulted in snow days for most students in the region on Jan. 12-13.
