TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 7, 2012
DETROIT - Ogdensburgs Jimmy Howard and the Detroit Red Wings will be hoping for the best when the all-star goalies broken finger is re-evaluated today. The team will be home today after a four-game western road trip.
Howard suffered a broken finger on his right hand in Thursdays 4-3 victory over Vancouver. His backup, Ty Conklin, and Joey MacDonald, who was called up from Grand Rapids of the AHL, have played in the past two games where the Wings sufferded losses at Edmonton 5-4 in a shootout and 3-1 at Phoenix.
The Red Wings will start a five-game homestand on Wednesday night against Edmonton and currently own a three-point lead over Vancouver in the Western Conference race with a 54-17 record.
