Graham gets Al Jazeera treatment

Watertown Mayor Jeff Graham, and the city's Irish Fest parade, was broadcast into 250 million homes when the Qatar-based Al Jazeera English news organization came to town to do a story on Fort Drum.
Cath Turner, an Al Jazeera English reporter, has been in town all weekend to report on the effects of the war in Afghanistan on the community; a color guard of 10th Mountain Division soldiers leading the Irish Fest parade served as a symbol of the return of soldiers from war. By summer, nearly all the 10th Mountain Division soldiers will be home.
Here's more about Ms. Turner.
She asked Mr. Graham about how the war in Afghanistan plays out locally; Mr. Graham said that people here don' t see it through the prism of geopolitics; instead, they see it through the lives of their neighbors, friends and kids' schoolmates.
As soon as Ms. Turner's story is posted, I will provide a link here.
Al Jazeera English has won wide acclaim for its coverage of the Arab Spring and other issues in the Middle East, and is available on satellite television all over the world, including the United States.
