Rep. Bill Owens has one of the best Facebook cover photos in Congress, according to the Washington Post.
It shows Mr. Owens, D-Plattsburgh, hanging out with some cows. Dairy is the major agriculture industry in the north country.
Matt Doheny, Mr. Owens' likely November challenger, went with the community support angle. His cover photo shows paraphernalia-clad supporters holding a big Doheny sign.
Mr. Doheny is the only person in the photo not wearing a Doheny shirt, but, much like the Irish people I met at Irish Fest who weren't wearing green, he's already got that plenty covered.
It's a subtle reflection of the difference between governing, which the incumbent can do, and campaigning.
Facebook switched to an annoying new "timeline" feature in the past couple of months, which lets you have a profile picture and then, above that, a "cover" photo. Because if it isn't broke, you should definitely try to fix it.
