The Associated Press is reporting that President Obama will visit GlobalFoundries, a Saratoga County-based computer chip manufacturer, on May 8.
The area has become familiar to Rep. Bill Owens, D-Plattsburgh, and his likely Republican challenger, Matt Doheny, in the Nov. 6 congressional election. Though the facility itself isn't in the new congressional district they're fighting over, many of the wealthy suburbs that surround it are.
The new part of the district appears to be the major battleground; Mr. Doheny has spent the majority of his time in the past week introducing himself to those new voters, and Mr. Owens has spent a good deal of time there, too.
