SACKETS HARBOR The village will dedicate the War of 1812 Bicentennial Peace Garden at 1 p.m. today at the Market Square Park on West Main Street.
The ceremony is one of several events in the village to memorialize the 200th anniversary of the War of 1812, and recognizes the peace and friendship between the United States and Canada in the Great Lakes region.
Following the dedication, a pork barbecue will be offered at 2 p.m. at the Harold W. Townsend American Legion Post 1757, Ambrose Street. Meals will cost $5 each.
