Dow Electric, Norwood and Tons Sports Bar all netted North Country Womens Summer Soccer wins on their home fields Tuesday evening.
Dow Electric 4, Canton 1: At the Pine Street Park field, Kodi Perkins led the way offensively for the host team with a hat trick. Brooke Enslow struck for the other goal while Steph Collins fielded five shots backstopping the win.
Sarah Baker broke through for the lone Canton goal while Brynn Tebo turn away 12 shots working the crease.
Norwood 2, Massena Savings and Loan 1: At the Norwood-Norfolk Central varsity field, Brittany Pierce opened the scoring for Norwood off an assist from Heather Morrow. Lisa Ellis then made it 2-0 on a play set up by Jess Harvey and that would hold up as the game-winner after Bailey Fregoe broke through for the lone Massena S&L marker in the second half off an assist from Kristin Borgosz.
Mickey Frego handled crease duties in the win while Janelle Bradish tended the Massena S&L goal.
Tons 3, Harrisville 1: At the SUNY Potsdam Rt. 56 field, Chelsea Clark connected for all three goals in the winning effort, the first on a penalty kick after being tripped inside the 18, the second on a corner kick that deflected into the back of the net off a Harrisville defender, and the third on a shot from just inside the top of the penalty area.
Kaitlyn Hart spoiled the bid for the shutout when she struck with two minutes left in regulation.
Liz Durfee had seven saves tending the win while Sam Rounds and Mary LaPlatney combined to stop 10 shots for Harrisville.
In the other games of the night, Potsdam Two outscored Akwesasne 5-3 and FC Freeze downed Heuvelton 5-1.
