GOUVERNEUR A Gouverneur man was arrested by Gouverneur-based state police Monday at his home after hitting a car while attempting to shoot a squirrel earlier this month. Leonard M. Zaffarano, 62, of 1267 County Route 12, Gouverneur, was charged with reckless endangerment of property, a misdemeanor. Mr. Zaffarano missed the squirrel he was intending to shoot with a .22 calibre long rifle, instead hitting the car of another person, whose information was unavailable, troopers said.
The incident occurred on June 16. Mr. Zaffarano was issued an appearance ticket, troopers said.
