POTSDAM - The Lounge pulled away to a 5-0 win over Tons Sports Bars in a North Country Womens Summer Soccer matchup of Potsdam rivals on Thursday at the SUNY Potsdam Rt. 56 field.
Lacey Malbeuf led the way offensively with three goals. Kaila Maguire and Anita Bessette-Francis struck for the other goals.
In other action on Thursday, Dow Electric beat Edwards-Knox 4-0, FC Freeze turned back Norwood-Norfolk 2-0 and Massena outscored Heuvelton 7-4. Akwesasne at Harrisville was postponed.
Dow Electric 4, E-K 0: At the Pine Street Park field in Potsdam, Brooke Enslow broke through for a pair of first-half goals before Kodi Perkins and Brittany Monroe sealed the win with solo goals in the second. Steph Collins made four saves backstopping the shutout.
Katlyn French handled 11 shots in the losing cause.
FC Freeze 2, N-N 0: At the SLU J Lot Field in Canton, all the scoring took place in the first half. Tarah Evans scored on a well-placed ball into the lower corner in the 17th minute with the assist awarded to Sara Elliott. Less than eight minutes later, Alicia jones fired a shot into the net with an assist from Eileen Coyle.
Alex Weston finished with three saves posting the shutout while Amanda Roi fielded 10 shots working the N-N crease.
