When Robin L. and Tim Logan heard that their daughters class at Ogdensburg Free Academy was having a difficult time raising the money they needed to host their prom, they decided to take matters into their own hands.
Mr. Logan plays guitar in the band, Dragnfly and has played at several jamborees in the area. Mrs. Logan said it was his idea to put together a jamboree to raise money for their daughters class.
That jamboree will be held Saturday at the Freight House starting at 5 p.m.
We just wanted to try and help the kids and see if we could raise some money for them, Mr. Logan said.
Mrs. Logan, together with her daughter, Jessie and Jessies friend, Class President Charlotte Miller are putting the event, which is open to people of all ages, together.
There will be three bands, Mrs. Logan said, adding The Acoustic Brothers will hit the stage at 6 p.m. to be followed by The Vault and Dragnfly.
Food and a cash bar will also be available.
Were also going to have a silent auction and 50/50, Mrs. Logan said. Were going to end up with at least 40 items.
Mrs. Logan said the support theyve received from area businesses has been great with a wide variety of gift certificates that will be up for grabs, as will items from Lia Sophia, Party Lite, Princess House and Home Interiors.
Several parents have even put together gift baskets, she said.
Admission to the event is just $5 with all proceeds going to the Ogdensburg Free Academy Class of 2014.
Were hoping for a good turnout. It should be fun, she said.
If you would like to donate to the event contact Mrs. Logan at 393-7756 or Ms. Miller at 393-0019.
