Showing a major league form, Ogdensburg Maples pitcher Breton LaRose struckout 15 batters, tossed a no hitter through five innings and finished with a combined three hitter with Geoff Baldwin in a 7-0 decision over Beaver River in 18U Baseball play on Thursday. Breton LaRose allowed two hits and didnt walk a batter5 as the Maples scored twice in the second, four in the third and once in the fourth.
Baldwin struckout three and allowed one walk and one hit.
Our pitching has been solid. It was nice to see Breton mix his breaking pitches in. His fastball has been very good in his two starts. said Coach Steven LaRose.
Offensively, Bryant Wentworth had a double and two singles with an RBI while Andrew LeBeau lined a double and a single and plated a run. Pay Comso added two singles and two RBI. Other Maples contributors were: Cavan LaRose (triple), Breton LaRose (single), Seth Pinkerton (double), Andrew Cole (double, single) and Jon Tayler (single).
The Maples play at Canton on Friday and host Plattsburgh on Saturday at 1 p.m. for a doubleheader.
