LISBON - When the Golden Knights marching band hits the streets this summer theyll be paying tribute to hair band era with a routine featuring two 80s classics.
Students, none of whom would have been born yet when either song came out will be performing Livin On A Prayer by Bon Jovi and Urgent by Foreigner.
According to Director Glenn Roberts both pieces were arranged by retired Edwards-Knox Marching Band Director Keith Ziemba.
Were looking forward to a great summer and hope that the audiences enjoy our performance as much as we enjoy performing for them, Mr. Roberts said.
While some schools in the are have been struggling with membership, Mr. Roberts said thats not the case at Lisbon.
Enrollment is holding pretty steady from past years with 20 in band proper, 10 in color guard and seven in our front line, he said, adding Gabby Walker will once again serve as drum majorette.
Mr. Roberts said Livin On A Prayer will feature a duet involving Allison Crowley on the piccolo and Sarah Newtown on the trumpet. Urgent features a saxophone solo by Matt Snyder.
Students will be debuting their 2012 routine at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Morristowns annual Fourth of July parade.
The parade, which marches through downtown Morristown will also include the Ogdensburg Free Academy, Gouverneur, Morristown, Heuvelton and Edwards-Knox marching bands.
