The See-Way Slo-Pitch Softball Association playoffs opened on Tuesday night with high-scoring action in the A and B Division.
In the A Division, Myers Pub grabbed a 2-0 lead over the Phoenix on the Bay and Myers Pub Guns and Hoses and The Place split the first two games of their best three-out-of five series.In the B Division, Ogdensburg Bowl took a 2-0 lead over OGradys Construction. Action in both divisions continues on Thursday.
A DIVISION OPENERS
Myers Pub G&H 9 - Place 8: Jared Morrow belted a homerun and a double, Mike Farrell tripled and singled and John Denio stroked three singles to lead the winners who prevailed with two runs after two outs in the seventh inning. Scott McCormick added a pair of singles for Myers Pub G&H which weathered a homerun and a single from Brookin Decker, two doubles by Kevin Kline, a double and a single by Pete LaBella, a homerun by Andy Raven and a triple and a single by Kris Murdock.
Place 18 , Myers Pub G&H 2: The Place evened the series at 1-1 by scoring 11 runs in the fifth and sixth innings. Leading the way were: Brett Bailey (2 triples, 2 singles), Bill Durham (4 singles), Pete LaBella (triple, 2 singles), Kevin Kline (double, single) and Rob Anderson (double, single). Scott Reed tripled for Myers Pub G&H.
Myers Pub 8 - Phoenix On Bay 3: Myers Pub scored seven times in its last three at-bats to pull away sparked by a homerun and two singles by Andy Ladouceur, two doubles by Travis LaRock, a homerun and a single by Mike Ashley and a single and a double by John Smith. Dustin Miller and Jeremy McDonald.Andrew LeBeau singled and doubled for the Phoenix with Bill Payne stroking two singles and B.J. Doyle connecting for a triple.
Myers Pub 18 - Phoenix on Bay 0: A 10-run fourth inning powered an early pull-away for the winners who were led by: T.J. Hannan (double, 2 singles), Andrew Ladouceur (double, single), Ryan Farrell (2 singles, double), Travis LaRock (2 doubles, single), John Smith (homerun), Andrew Dedekker(double, single) and Jeremy McDonald (double, single).
B.J. Doyle and Dallas Sutton singled twice for the Phoenix on the Bay.
B DIVISION OPENER
Ogd Bowl 24 - OGradys Construction 10: Josh Lassial (homerun, double, 2 singles), Chris Frary (homerun, triple, double), Matt Perry (2 homeruns, single) and Aaron Smith (homerun, 2 singles) led the winners. Chris Spicer lined two triples and a single and Matt Pierce tripled and singled.
Tim Barr homered and singled for OGradys which also received two doubles and two singles from Jamie Wallace and three singles from Andy Rickett.
Ogd Bowl 23 -OGradys Construction 6: Chris Frary (double, 3 singles), Matt Perry (homerun, 3 singles) and Aaron Smith (triple, 3 singles) all collected four hits for the winners. Josh Lassail homered and singled with Chris Spicer rapping a triple, a double and single and Tyer Bushey poling a double and a single.
OGradys countered with a double and two singles by Tyler Ross and Tim Barr and three singles.
A Division
