OGDENSBURG An 11-year-old Morristown boy who allegedly flashed a knife at a woman was arrested, along with his mother, on Wednesday.
The complainant, Shirley McDonald, Morristown, reportedly confronted the youth about several missing items she owned and suspected were in his boat. Then, he allegedly flashed a knife at her and chased her car down the road, Canton-based state police said.
Additional information about what items sparked the dispute was unavailable.
The boys mother, Trina M. Petrie, 33, of 409 Main St., Morristown, was charged with endangering the welfare of a child, failure to exercise control of a minor. Her son was charged with second-degree menacing, both class-A misdemeanors.
Troopers said this was the culmination of multiple incidences of juvenile delinquent behavior by the minor.
The boy and his mother were both issued appearance tickets. He will answer to the county probation department and her to Morristown court, troopers said.
