An Antwerp man was sentenced Wednesday in Jefferson County Court to six months in the Public Safety Building for violating an order of protection and violating probation.

John C. Forney, 21, of 35220 Carpenter Road, will receive credit for an unspecified amount of time served following his guilty plea to first-degree criminal contempt and his probation violation admission. He admitted that he violated a protection order held by Elizabeth A. Davenport, Theresa, by phoning her April 9 and threatening to harm her. He admitted violating probation by committing the new crime.

At the time, he was serving a sentence of three years’ probation given to him in November in County Court after he pleaded guilty to two counts of fourth-degree criminal mischief.

In other court activity, Clarence L. Reaves, 18, Watertown, pleaded guilty to third-degree attempted criminal sale of a controlled substance. He admitted that he tried to sell cocaine Dec. 8 within the county. He is expected to be sentenced Sept. 5 to six months in the PSB, followed by five years’ probation.
