"NORWOOD - Nearly 60 area diehards weathered the lingering threat of thunderstorms to compete in the second race of the 2012 Norwood Beach Duathlon Series on Tuesday.
Keith Kogut posted the fastest time of the night, leading the mens division in 43:39. Steph Rogers paced the womens division with a time of 44:00, which was second best overall. The duo of Will Glass and Larry Rowe combined to lead the team division with a time of 45:23.
Rounding out the top five in the mens division were David Schryver (44:50), Mike Fowler (45:20), James Purvis (46:03) and John Kennedy (46:11).
Completing the top five for the women were Amy Hollister (49:39), Katie Kennedy (49:45), Ania Kowalski (51:44) and Pamela Rowe (54:16).
Emily Cotey and Pete LePage finished second in the team division with a time of 46:25 followed by Sam Gerber and Bill Gerber (46:36), Jason Bouchard and Memory Bouchard (47:15) and Joel Bixby and Dylan Crawford (47:39).
Due to technical difficulties resulting from the damage caused by the severe storm that hammered Potsdam and surrounding areas, full results of the second race were not available and will be published at a later date.
The next race of the series is slated for Tuesday, July 31.
