" MADRID – The Knights of Columbus U12 co-ed soccer squad enjoyed a successful outing at the PYSL play day hosted by Madrid Waddington on Saturday afternoon posting a 2-1 mark with all 19 players present contributing in some scorching hot conditions. The locals will return to the field on Thursday hosting Potsdam in a league PYSL contest at 6:30 p.m. at the OFA JV field.
M-W 3 – Ogd. KofC 2: M-Ws Jake Robinson tallied the game winner with just over 2 minutes left to cap off a rally after the KofC opened up a 2-0 lead. Hayden Ives converted a penalty kick and Nick Shollette scored from Jacob Abner and Ives to give the locals a 2-0 advantage. Natalie McCormick and Olivia McRoberts also generated offensive opportunities for the Knights of Columbus while Garret Bell and Caroline Lalone anchored the defensive play and Austin McRoberts collecting 8 saves between the posts.
Ogd. KofC 2 – Massena 1: Hayden Ives found the back of the net from a play that started with stopper Kelsey Pinkerton sending the ball up the sideline to Ali Moore who drew the assist while Greg Mallott scored from a Justin McCormick drop back pass to spark the locals offensively. Burkelei Duprey, Shelby Ross and Ian Morrow turned in strong two-way play from the midfield for the locals with Eddie Swan stopping 6 shots in the crease.
Ogd. KofC 3 – Parishville 0: Hayden Ives netted two goals and Katie Axtell added a solo marker with Greg Mallott, Taylor Mack and Jake Sharpe all picking up assists to spark the KofC to a solid victory over Parishville. Eddie Swan stopped 7 shots for the shutout with strong defensive up front of him led by Garret Bell and Kelsey Pinkerton.
