NEW BREMEN — A half-acre of forestland was struck by a Sunday afternoon fire in the town of New Bremen.

Firefighters from New Bremen, Lowville and Croghan battled the blaze off Paradise Road, a private thoroughfare off Muncy Road.

The fire was called in at 3:10 p.m.

No injuries were reported. The cause of the blaze was unknown, according to Lewis County fire officials.
