LOWVILLE — Stella “Elza” Aldino, 87, of Church Street, Lowville, died late Friday evening at the Lewis County Residential Healthcare Facility.

A calling hour will be from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 25, 2012 at Iseneker Funeral Home, Inc., Lowville, with a prayer service at 1:30 p.m . at the funeral home. A funeral Mass will be said at 2:30 p.m. at St. Peters Catholic Church, with Rev. Christopher Carrara, Pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in Lowville Rural Cemetery.

She is survived by a daughter, Mary Santoro of Niskayuna, NY, two grandsons, three great-grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She is predeceased by her husband; a son, Jack Aldino, four brothers, Adolf, Edward, Henry and Ralph Maciejko; two sisters, Lottie Petrus and Julia Geib.

Elza was born in Lowville, NY on December 31, 1924, a daughter of the late Albert and Mary Borowski Maciejko and attended country school on the Flat Rock Road and Lowville Academy. On June 27, 1943, she married Charles James Aldino at St. John’s Catholic Church in Brooklyn, NY. Mr. Aldino died on June 10, 1993.

Mrs. Aldino was a communicant of St. Peter’s Catholic Church.

She enjoyed making greeting cards and making things out of tile.
